Now that you have picked out the HSBC credit card that suits your needs, it’s time to prepare the requirements before applying!

Before you proceed with your HSBC credit card application, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Between 18 to 70 years old
  • Must be a primary CC cardholder issued by a bank in the Philippines for at least 12 months
  • Must have a minimum gross annual income of ₱200,000 for HSBC Red Mastercard and HSBC Gold Visa Cash Back Card, or ₱500,000 for HSBC Platinum Visa card
  • Must have a HSBC Advance account (for HSBC Advance Visa) or HSBC Premier account (for HSBC Premier Mastercard)

The HSBC credit card requirements are the following:

Proof of identity

  • Passport, driver’s license, NBI clearance or postal ID
  • Any two of the following: PRC license, SSS ID, TIN ID, birth certificate, police clearance, voter’s ID or company ID (as long as your company is SEC-registered)
  • For foreigners: visa, alien certificate of registration or immigrant certificate of residence

Proof of income:

  • Regular employees: latest income tax return, BIR Form 2316 or three months’ payslips
  • Self-employed and entrepreneurs: latest income tax return, photocopy of business registration with photo and financial statements for the past three months
  • OFWs: work permit, certificate of employment or contract of employment and working visa, POEA certificate or POEA OFW card

How to activate HSBC credit card

So, how to activate a HSBC credit card in the Philippines?

There are two ways to do this. First, you can call the HSBC hotline at (02) 8858-0000 or (02) 7976-8000 and follow the voice instructions. The bank will send you a one-time pin (OTP) via text to complete the activation.

Second, you can activate your card by texting HSBC <space> the last four digits of your card <space> your last name <space> birth month & year in MMYYYY format to 0922-100-1010.
