About PNB

Established on July 22, 1916, the Philippine National Bank (or PNB for short) is one of the country’s biggest universal banks. At first, it was established to provide financial services and support the country’s agricultural sector, granting farmers loans at 8-10% interest rate per annum.

From its humble beginnings, it has since evolved into a behemoth in the Philippine banking industry. It offers savings accounts, loans, credit cards, insurance, investment and corporate banking services to millions of Filipinos nationwide.

You can simply walk into a PNB branch for your financial needs, or if you’re on-the-go, you can check your transactions through the PNB app on your gadget.

PNB credit card reviews

Some PNB credit cards are recommended for beginners because of their low barriers to entry and low to no annual fees.

For example, the PNB Classic Visa offers a low 2% interest rate plus travel and purchase protection insurance at a low annual fee of ₱300! It only requires a minimum monthly income of ₱10,000, so if you want to start building your credit history, then this card is the one for you!

On the other hand, PNB Ze-Lo Mastercard has free annual fees for life and only 2% interest rate – all with a minimum monthly income requirement of ₱10,000! The only downside to this is you are required to have an existing credit card in order to qualify. This may not be for you if you’re looking for a beginner card, but can be an ideal backup card.

PNB also offers credit cards for the quintessential traveler: the PNB-PAL Mabuhay Miles NOW Mastercard, PNB-PAL Mabuhay Miles Platinum Mastercard, PNB-PAL Mabuhay Miles World Mastercard, and PNB Diamond UnionPay. You can earn rewards and travel points with these cards and they also come with additional perks that can help you while you’re traveling.

Why was my PNB credit card application not approved?

You may find yourself being denied a PNB credit card. It may be because you did not meet the age or monthly income requirement. You may have been declined because your employment documents are not in order, or your credit history is bad or nonexistent.

Don’t worry, no need to lose sleep over what you did wrong. It happens to the best of us.

But if you find yourself without a credit card, you can apply for quick cash loans from Digido! In just five minutes, you can get a minimum loan amount of ₱1,000 and a maximum of ₱25,000.
