What is PDEA in the Philippines?
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (or PDEA for short) is a government agency under the Office of the President that is in charge of enforcing the law on all provisions on dangerous drugs and its precursors.. It is the implementing arm of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB)
Among other things, the functions of PDEA include implementing the national drug control strategy developed by the DDB, enforce the provisions indicated in the Article II of Republic Act 9165, arrest and apprehend drug violators, take custody of drug paraphernalia that have been seized and/or confiscated, and prepare the filing of criminal and civil cases for drug violations.
The agency is currently being headed by Director General Wilkins M. Villanueva. PDEA’s headquarters is located at the PDEA Building, NIA Northside Road, Brgy. Pinyahan, Quezon City.

PDEA hiring 2023
PDEA is currently looking for Intelligent Officer 1! To qualify for this position, you must be 21 to 35 years of age, a baccalaureate degree holder, and eligible for a Career Service Second Level position.
There is also a height requirement. You must be at least 5’2” if you are a man, and at least 5’ if you are a woman. But don’t fret if you can’t meet the height requirement: you can submit a National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)-issued certificate of confirmation if you are under-height and an Indigenous person.
There is also a PDEA qualifying exam and neuro-physical examination.
PDEA hiring requirements for agents
If you’re interested in becoming a PDEA agent, you need to prepare an application letter addressed to the PDEA Director General, a personal data sheet (PDS) with your contact details indicated, a birth certificate from the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), a photocopy of your transcript of records, a photocopy of your diploma, and a certificate of eligibility or board of rating.
Compile these documents in a folder then submit it to the nearest PDEA Regional Office, the PDEA Academy, or through email at pdeadeo1711@yahoo.com.

PDEA K9 Handler Requirements

- 23 to 26 years old
- At least a high school graduate
- Physically fit
- Dog or animal lover
- Willing to undergo six months of training in Antipolo and Bulacan
